Class Descriptions:
ASA 101, Keelboat 1 Beginner Sailing
This is a perfect
introductory course to help you learn about sailing. It will provide the
necessary knowledge to sail a boat of about 20 feet in light to moderate winds
and sea conditions in familiar waters without supervision. You will learn the
fundamentals of keelboat sailing, including sail theory and practice,
terminology, safety equipment and procedures, crew overboard recovery, sailing
knots and much more. Learn basic sailing terminology, parts and functions, helm
commands, basic sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, seamanship and safety
including basic navigation rules to avoid collisions and hazards. Cost: $597.50

Prerequisite: ASA 101, Keelboat 1
Your next step to master sailing! Learn to skipper and crew aboard a
sloop-rigged keelboat of approximately 20 feet in length by day in winds up to
20 knots. Depart, sail, and return with control demonstrating
teamwork. Students will not only become more adept sailors but will also
gain the expertise required to excel in sailboat regattas. Whether you're a
novice sailor or looking to enhance your competitive edge, these classes
provide a comprehensive foundation for achieving your sailing goals.
Format: All courses are offered as a 2 day
weekend course over Saturday and Sunday. Cost: $597.50
First Aid/CPR and AED Course
Join us at the Milwaukee Yacht Club for an engaging in-person First Aid/CPR
and AED course! Elevate your lifesaving skills with our comprehensive program,
designed to empower you to respond effectively to emergencies.

1. Learn to recognize the signs
of a cardiac arrest and take immediate action, increasing the chances of
survival for the victim.
2. Understand how to use an
automated external defibrillator (AED), a critical skill that can
significantly increase survival rates during sudden cardiac arrest
incidents.

confidence to assist individuals who are choking on food or foreign
objects, potentially saving their lives.
4. Learn techniques to assist
victims suffering from hypothermia, including proper methods to provide
immediate care and support in critical situations.
5. Assist with an accident:
Acquire the necessary skills to provide immediate assistance in various
emergency scenarios, from workplace accidents to car crashes, until
professional medical help arrives.
This course, developed by the Emergency Care and Safety Institute in
collaboration with the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the
American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), meets all national standards
